Letter from the Sportsmen's Association requesting permission from the
Co~nission to use the Council Chamber for a meeting on Thursday ~arch 8th,19E8
Permission granted.
Reply from M.r ~ W.Sherman relative to the cancellation of
Bonds for City Officials of Charleston prior to ~he consolid~tion~:2tmti~_.g the onl.y
requirements by the Bonding Company were only to give dates of the expiration of
their term of o£fice in Charles~in and ~he clerk was instructed to acknowledge e~me.

[/~.of the said firm was present,~ddressed the meeting mt length regarding their position

to write l~essrs ~ettri~k,~e~triok and Eo~se that the City Commisslonerm are interested
in ~he purchace o£ the property and would.like to receive a proposition on the rice.

Letter received £rom Dr H A.Barner Gity Health Officer regarding the condition
o£ a drinking fountain located at ~ourth Street snd Pacific Avenue requesting i' be
placed in ~ smnitary condition,Chief Lent reported the fountain had been attend~ d to.
Letter received from John b~thers regarding his water bill No J18,gth St,
and on being read was ordered filed.
N.r L L.Lent addressed the meeting and requested the City Officials
to interest themselves in encouragement to the Basket Ball team in this City
on account of the honors they were receiving throughout the State.
Mr Jacobson representing the Bremerton-Charlest~n Transportation Go
stated they considering the purchaoe of the Jitney run now held by Mr ~u~er
and requested a license until ~uly 1st 19ES.
The Commissioners explained they could not grant a license to run to
that date as all licenses expire June 30th,19BS, but if they purchaced the
Sumner run they would issue a new licwnse to expire June 30th,19ES.
t,~s Palmer applied to purchaoe the small building at the corner of
llth and Hewett Streets and requested a price therefor.
The Commissioners stated they would examine the building and let her
know the price they would set on it.
L~ Halverson moved and seconded by 4Lr 01dham that all bills approved
and allowed by a majority of the $ommissioners the clerk be instructed to
issue warrants for s~me.
