the matter was referred t~o.the City Engineer,
l~ayor 01dham appointed ~Lr Groves~as caretaker of the City Auto Park
~o serve without salary except the fees received from tourists using or occupying
the.2ark.

~r Halverson reported that he had ~alked with Naval Officers during his
s~ay in Washington D.C, regarding the paving of Burwell S~reet,and while Rear Admiral
L~E.Gregory gave it his endorsement,he found other~Naval Officers who, were opposed
uo the Government a~ding such projects.
He also sta~ed ~ha~ tha~ he had no~iced in all the large cities as
he ~essed along on his journey that as a general ~hing they were all using ~he
s~aggard lights in ~he s~reets for lighting purposes and expected to have ~ome inform
ation regarding same in ~he near future.
