Clerk read minutes of the regular meeting of February 5,19J0, I.~otion by I~J Oldham and I,~. Casad lo approve minutes as read,carried as follows: i~r. 01dham, Yes. ~. Halverson, Yes. Mr. Cksad, yes. Clerk read letter from i~ir. James H. Ross, secretary of School Board protest~ng against proposed improvemeni o~ Elizabeth Street by paving, le~er ordered filed until regular date of hearing. ~vo residents of Elizabeth Street also a~peared before ~he commission and requested th~ no action be taken in connection with the ~ropos~d improvements and stated ~hat ~hey had circulated a petition agains~ ~he improvements and that over six~,y per 'cent of the proper~y owners were against doing the work at ~his time. The I,~ayor explained that no action had yet'been taken and the declaration of intention had not been passed se~ing the date of hearing. l~Ir. Casad expressed ~he opinion that ~he declaration of in~en~ion ~hould be i~assed and the property owners advised what the cost of the improvemen~ would be so ~hat the Commission and those in~erested could ac~ inSelligently on the ma~ter. Hr. ~alverson said he was not in favor of doing ~he work if the property owners could no~ get together and agree to have it done, and suggested ~hat a petition be circula~ed which would show the cost of the work to each property owner and w~en signed either for or agains~ ~he work the commission ~ould ac~ accordingly. ~ilotion by ~.~, Halverson and ~r. Clerk read resolution authorizing and instructing the Mayor and City Clerk ~o sell to ~. T. D. Green ~he south 24 feet of Lot ~ Block 1,Park Place addition all of Lot J and all of Lot 7 Block l, Park Place addilion, for ~he sum of $10J?.80 ~ayable 20% down and the balance in ~hree annual payments, with interest at seven per cent on the deferred payments. ~.Iotlon by l,Ir.
