Hegular meeting of the City Commission of the,City of Bremerton,laahington,
held on saturday October 14, 1933 at ten §'clock m.M.Mayor McGillivray
presiding, commissioner Halverson, Commissioner Cased and City Attorney Gorman
being present at roll call.
Clerk read minutes of meeting held on 0otober ?,1533 and on motion of Mr.
Cased and Mr.Halverson same were approved as read,all members voting Yes.
Mr Y. H. Martin of East Bremerton presented a petition from a large number of
property owners asking for the construction of a sewer system in that part of the
city; and on motion of Mr Halverson and Mr McGlllivraysamewas referred to the
City Engineer for checking. (all members voting Yes.)
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr Casad to allow all bills approved by a majority
of the commission, oarr~$d as follows: Mr McGillivray, Yes. Mr Hal~eraon, Yea. Mr.
Cased, Yes.
Clerk read resignation of Mr. G. L, Nutter as City Treasurer, effective 0ot.21.33.
Motion by Mr McGlllivray and Mr Halverson to accept resignation, carried as follows:
Mr MoGillivray, Yes. ~r. Halverson, Yes. Mr Cased, Yes.
Motion by Mr.Halverson and Mr McGillivray that Mr Homer ~onee be appointed City
Treasurer from and after 0etcher 21, 1933, carried as follows: Mr McGillivray, Yea.
Mr. Halverson, Yes. Mr casad, Yes.
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr MoGlllivray that Mr. G.L.Nutter be appointed Asst.
City Treasurer as of October 21,1933, carried as follows: Mr McGillivray, Yea. Mr.
Halverson, Yes. Mr 0asad, Yes.
Mr Casad submitted correspondence in reference to application for ~tate aid in
relief of unemployment, showing that we had applied ~or $17,850.00 and had been
allowed $~,000.00
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr McGillivray that Mr Casad be instructed to use
his best efforts to obtain further aid from the Federal Emergency of Public Works,
carried as follows:Mr McGlllivray Yes. Mr Halverson, Yes. Mr Casad, Yes.
Mr Casad reported that the Water Department had secured an option on the ~.R.Frone
property comprising about 51 acres of land for the sum of $4,000.00 and recommended
that the purchase of this property be approved.
Motion by Mr Halveraon and Mr MoGillivray to approve the purchase and instruct
Mr Casad to take possession of the property for the city, carried as follows:
