Regular m~eting of the City Commission of the City of Bremerton,~ashin~ton,
held on saturday July 25,19~6 at ten o'clock A.M.,Mayor MoGillivray,presiding,
Co~:~issioner Casad and City Attorney German being present at roll call.
Clerk read minutes of the previous regular meeting and on motion of ~r Casad
and Mr McGillivray same were approved as read, both members voting yes.
Clerk read letter frmn~r Y. W. Bryan and on motion of Mr Casad and ~ ~eGillivray
san~ was referred to the City ~ttorney.
Clerk read letter frcm Fire Chief Lent, re fire hazard caused by crowding o~ down
town area on "bank nights" and on motion of ~r McGillivray and Mr Oasad letter was
referred to City Attorney.
The question of paving alley in Block One Bremer's First ~dditlon and providing
for necessary drainage was discussed by commissioners and interested property owners,
D~r Casad stated that the easiest way to obtain drainage would be the construction of
a sewer through ~ Ball's property; ~r Ball was present but declined to set a price
for such right of way a~d the question was laid over until ~ug.l,19~6.
The question of the improvement of Fifth Street between Pacific and flashington and
tho alley in Block Fiv~ (5) 0. T. B. was discussed and ~ Casad stated that it would
be necessary to round off the corners of lots at the alley intersection; on motion of
Lit ~lcOillivray and ~r Casad the matter was referred to the City zttorney to prepare
resolution of intention.
Clerk reported having received five bids for~newoGa~bage Truck and on motion of
~r l~cGillivray and ~ Casad bids were opened as follows: Navy Yard Motor Company;
Reed Chevrolet Co; Bremerton Buick Company; C.Blair Craft Motor Co and Kerr Motor Co.
