Regular meeting of the city commission ~Nlthe City of Bremerton,Washin~on, held on
Saturday Augus~ 21,1937 at ten o'clock A.M., In the absence of the Mayor, Mr Halverson
Commissioner of Finance and Accounting presided; Co~mtssioner Cased and City Attorney
Beakley being present at roll call.
Clerk read minutes of the regular meeting held August 14,1937 and on morion of Mr
Cased and Mr Halverson same were hpproved as read.
Clerk reported having received seven bids for supplying the garbage department wi~h
a new truc~; motion by Mr Cased and Mr Halverson to open bids, carried both members
voting yes. Bids were opened and found to be from the following firms: Bremerton
Buick Company, Kerr Motor Company,~Navy Yard Motor Co., Todhunter and Craft, Hal Smith
SnLlth Oldsmobile Company ar~lReed CheVrolet.
Motion by Mr Italverson and Mr Cased to refer all bids' to' the commission for further
consideration, eaVried as follows: Mr ttalverson, Yes. Mr Cased, Yes. Mr Knabb,Absent
Clerk reported this as date fixed for hearing on assessment roll of L.I.D.#157 and
stated that no protests had been filed~.
Clerk read ordinance No.1174 approving and adopting the assessment roll of L.I.D. No
157 established by ordinance #113? providing for the improvement of the alley in Block
23 OTB. levying and~ assessing the ~ost thereof against the property benefitted,provid-
ing for the collection thereof and fixing ~etober 15,1937 as date of issuance and sale
of bondsin payment thereof.
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr Cased to pass and adopt ordinance as read, carried as

Clerk read petition asking for ~heoondemuation of certain buildings at Warren and
Broadway on Ninth Street. Motion by-'-Mr Halver~on and Mr Cased to refer to Building
IInspector and the Fire Chief, carried as follows: Mr Halverson,Yes. Mr Cased Yes. Mr.
IKnabb, Absent.
Clerk read resolution authorizing the Mayor anf Clerk to sell all of Lots #ll and 12
in Block ll, Second addition to Charleston; ~

down and balance in semi annual payments of $175. with interest at the rate of 7%.
Motion by Mr Ha lverson and Mr Cased to adopt ~esolution, xarried as follows:

Clerk read resolution setting~the fee for the issuance of permits and inspection of
steam boilers in the City of Bremerton.
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr Cas ad to adopt resolution and fix $3.00 as the minimum
fee, carried as follows: Mr Halverson, Yes. Mt. Cased, Yes. Mr Knabb, Absent.
Clerk read resolution confirming the appointment of the Civil Service Commissioners
who are now acting for the Fire Department as the Civil Service Commission of the City
of Bremerton with full power to act as provided by ordinance and the laws of the State.
