Regular meeting of the City Co~muission of the City of Bremerton,~ashington,
held on saturday Jan.23,193? at ten o'clock a.m. ~a~or Knabb,presid~ng, Commissioner
Halverson, Co~m.~issioner Casad and City ~ttormsy Beakley being present at roll call.
Clerk read minutes of the regular meeting held Jan.16,1937 and on motion of Mr.
Casad and idr ~abb s~me were approved as read,all members voting Yes.
Clerk reported~aving receiv~ three bids for supply of C.I.Pipe and on motion of
~,Ir Casad and Mr ~abb same were opened and found to be as follows: Hugh G.Purcell Co.,
Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co., and Atlas Foundry Company.
l~otion by ~lr Halverson and Mr Casad to reject any bid not having certified check
attached, carried as follows: ~lr ~abb,Yes. };Ir Halverson, Yes. ~lr Casad, Yes.
Motion by Idr Casad and I~r Halverson to accept the bid of Mr Hugh G.Puroell,carried
as follows: I~Ir ~abb, Yes. i~Ir Halverson, Yes. Mr Casad, Yes.

Clerk read an ordinance lmking ~ashington ~venue between Sixth and ~leventh Street
a one way street~.;~o~a~Z~eOand permitting parking on one side only.
~r Theo.Peterson and several other representatives of East Sremert~n ~rotested t~,e
~ssage of the ordinance as a detriment to all citizens residing in their part of the
city and expressed the opinion that proposed az'rangement would be conducive to acciden

Clerk read petition from Mr Hendrix and eleven other building contractors,urging
the appointment of a new building inspector; 5~ H. E~in who claimed to represent
the building trades union stated he had prepared the petition and spoke in favor of
an ordinance regulating the erection of buildings; petition was referred back to ~Ir
Irwin for further information,
Clerk read letter from Chas. C. Kohler asking the commission to reserve space for
his Hotorcycle Cab business and on motion of ~lr Halverson and t~ir Casad the request
was refer~d to the Chief of Police.
idr Casad reportem that the W.P.A.had approved new paving project for Br~erton.
Motion by Mr Halverson and Mr Casad to adjourn, carried as follows: ~ir ~abb,Yes.
