~aturday ,~eptember 23,1939 at ten o'clock A.M., Coinmissioner Halverson,presiding,Comm-
i~ioner Cased and City Attorney Dryan being present. Mr Jones absent on city business
Clerk read minutes of previous regular meeting and adjourmuent thereof and Mr Cased
stated the minutes should show that he reeo~ended the purchase of gate~ valves as fol-
&ows: 6. 6 inch hub end gate valves, 10. 8 inch, 5. 12 inch and 7. 24 inch hub end gat
valves,
Motion by Mr Halverson ~nd Lit Cased to approve minutes as read ~nd corrected, carrie
as i'o]lows: Mr Halverson, Yes. Mr Cased, Yes. Mr Jones absent
Clerk read letter from Mr T. 0. Buffington, requesting the vacation of alley in block
8 Port Orchard a~dition, and on motion of I~r He lverson and i~= Cased the request was
referred to the City Engineer and City Attorney.
Clerk read letter from Mr Leigh Leighton re condition of alley between Burwell and
~econd ~treets in Block 8, Original Towm of Bremerton and on motion of 2~ Halverson and
kit Ca~ad the letter was referred to the Building Inspector.
Cle~,k read letter from the Wqshington Surveying and Rating Bureau in reference to
a~proved fire protection and on motion of ~M Halverson and Mr Ca;ad the letter was refe:
itc the co~m~iosion for consideration.
Clerk re~d Ordinance #1296 providing for the moving of buildings over c~ty streets
and repealing Ordinances 961 and 991. (Second reading)
Motion by Lit Halverson and Mr Cased to pass and adopt ordinance on final reading,
carried as follows: Mr. Halverson, Yes. I,~ Cased, Yes. Mr Jones, ~bsent.
