Pursuant to adjournment the regular meeting of the City Commission of the
City of Bremerton was reconvened at 9 o'clock A.M., Friday, November 29, 1940.
Mayor Jones presiding, Commissioner, Bruenn, Commissioner Cased and the City
Attorney being present.
Clerk read the following letter:
"Honorable Mayor and City Commission
The Housing Authority of the City of Bremerton has made
application to this department for a permit; also asking for
approval of the contract plans and specifications so that their
architects can certify to the United States ttousing Authority
that said plans and specifications comply with local laws per-
taining thereto.
After a thorough inspection it is my opinion that in ~eneral
the construction indicated is apprcximately thirty per cent better
than necessary under out City Code. In one or two instances the
construction is in accordanc~ with National and State Codes but
does not meet local requirements, particularly on the flour Unit
type dwellings.
However, due to the fact that said dwellings have separate
entrances and exits; that all buildings are plastered, and are
all one-story with no basements; it is my recommendation that
in the interest of National Defense, we make an exception on this
particular U2HA-Aided Defense Housing Project, and approve the
plans and specifications s~bmitted to this department by the Local
Housing authority.
Yours truly,
M. G. McLeod, Bldg. Inspr."
