Pursuant to adjournment the regular meeting of the City Commission was reconvened
Friday, June 21, 1940 at 2 o'clock P.M. Mayor Jones, Commissioner Bruenn, Comm-
issioner Casad and the City Attorney being present.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Jones who submitted the Commissioner's pro-
posed plan for operation of bussess in the City of Bremerton.
Those present representing bus lines were: Mr. Tony Hatch, Bremerton-Charleston
Bus; Jens Jacobsen, Boston-Naval Bus; A. J. Hauck, Marine Drive BUS; W. A.
McGillvray, Park Avenue Bus; Mr. Stull, Burwell Street BUS; and H. D. Hanson,
East Bremerton Bus.
The plan proposed was that the Charleeton bus extend its present route to include
the "loop" which consists of First Street from Pacific Avenue to Washington Avenue,
Washington to Second, Second to Pacific and then on the regular route. It was
also suggested that the bus operate on Wycoff Avenue rather than Callow Avenue if
the owners of the bus line w~shed.
The Boston-Naval bus extend their present route to include the "loop" coming out
on Pacific Avenue at Fourth Street rather than Second Street, and with the option
to let their extra bus stop and leave from their regular station at Fourth end
Pacific from 4:45 to~5:15, making the loop with Just one bus.
The East Bremerton bus was to continue its present route without any changes.
The Marine Drive bus to continue its present route but having the waiting station
East of Pacific on Burwell near the Mission Cafe.
The Park Avenue bus was to continue its present route adding the "loop" trip,
entering Pacific Avenue from Fourth Street except between 4:45 P.M. and 5:15 P.M.
when it will pick up its passengers from the regula~ station at Fourth and Pacific.
It was suggested that the Burwell Street operators and the Bremerton-Charleston
bus owners attempt to devise a plan by which they may be consolidated with the
No. Callow line serving N. Callow to Eighth Street, on Eighth Street to Olympic,
Olympic Avenue to Seventh Street, Seventh Street to Naval Avenue, Naval Avenue to
Gregory Way, Gregory Way to High Avenue, High Avenue to Burwell, Burwell to
Pacific Avenue, ~acific Avenue to First Street, First Street to Washington Avenue,
Washington Avenue to Burwell, Burwell to Pacific Avenue.
The plan was discussed and all bus representatives agreed to try the plan for
one month beginning July 1st, 1940.
Motion by M~. Jones and Mr. Bruenn to take under advisement the matter discussed.
