Clerk read minutes of the meetings held o~ February 10 and Febr~eary 14, ]940 and on motion of Mr Casad and Mr Bruenn sa~;e '.'~ere ajproved as read,both member~ voting Clerk read applications for Taxi Zone permits from the following oleratore: To~,~y Barrieu, A.H.Kean, Archie [~hay, and Louis H. ;tark, ail having been ajproved by the chief of police. ~qotio'~ by Mr Bruenn and ~,~r Cased to a?prove applications, carried as fo~lows: Yr Pruenn, Yes. Mr Ca:~ad, Yes. Mr Jones, Absent. Mr !~cLeod the Building inspector recommended that bide for repair~n,T roof of city hall be rejected and new specifications prep~:~red. ~,~r Bruenn read resolution as follows: "Whereas the bids submitted for replacing the roof on the city hall, Bremerton, were referred to our building inspector and whereas the said inspector reco.,~ended t.bat the specifications for said roof be cha~ed Therefore be it resolved that we reject both bids submitted and advertise for new bids under the new specifications to be drawn by the building inspector." Motion by Mr Bruenn and Mr Cased to adopt resolution, carrie~ as follows: Bruenn, Yes. ~.Ir Cased, Yes. Mr Jo~es, Absent. The City Attorney reported on the claim of ;;ndrew Peterson for aled~ed damages a~ot~tinc to $10250.00 and reco~muended t.ba~ said claim be rejected. ?lotion by Mr Cased and Mr Bruenn to reject the claim of Andrew Petereon, carried as fo]lowe: Mr Bruenn, Yes. Mr Ca~ad, Yes. Mr Jones ~absent. The city attorney reported progress in the sase of the Port Commission against the City and explained the meaningo of the pleadings. Motion by Mr Cased and Mr Bruenn to authorize and instruct the Acting )~ayor to sign the pleadings on behalf of the city, carried as follows: 7~r Brue~n, Yes. Cased Yes. Mr Jones absent.
