Also, letter stated he was not'in favor of accepting this complete report as a substitute for the City's ezisting code and inasmuch as there is no emergency involved, he hoped that the proposed code will be carefully examined by a responsible committee before any further a ction is taken. Letter dated June 15, 1950, was read by Clef, from Kenneth G. Branch to the Council, stating his office is in favor of the city's efforts in'bringing the various ordinances affecting the construction of buildings up to date and that if the plumbers are not. sold on all the provisions as proposed, it was suggest- ed that sufficient time should be taken now to compare the proposed code with the forthcoming Uniform Plumbing Code. Letter recommended that the City vacate various widths on certain Sheri- dan Park streets so that the streets may more closely conform to existing im- provement on them. Letter outlined the streets and the recommended widths. The reason for making this recommendation is that a number of pur~hasers of the property in the original Plat of Sheridan Pare had complained that the streets encroached more than seemingly necessary on their property in some instances as much as twelve feet beyond the sidewalk line.
