A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was held at
A:00 o'clock P.M., Wednesday, December l, l~SA in the Mayor's Office with May-
or Yowell presiding and Commissioner Cullin, Commissioner Wheaton and City
Clerk McGowan in attendance. The press and radio had been advised of this meet-
ing but neither were represented.
City Clerk McGowan stated .that this meeting was called ~o consider a recom-
mendation of the Oommittee to whom the Police car bids had been referred, a
matter which had been overlooked at the regular Council meeting held this
morning.
He explained that after a rather exhaustive study of the bids the committee
recommends the award be made to the Halverson Motor Co., for t~o eight cylinder
Plymouth cars. In spite of the fact that the Chevrolet bid was under that of
the Plymouth by an amount of $1A?.~8, it was determined that in order~to con-
form with the Chevrolet,s twelve volt generator system to the radio, siren, red
blinker light and other special police equipment there would be an additional
cost of approximatelY $OB0~00 per car of $780.00 for the two cars. It was felt
that in the interest~of economy, the bid of Halverson Motors on two Plymouths
eights should be accepted.
Moved by Mayor Yowell and seconded by Commissioner Cullin that th~recom-
mendation of the committee be c~ncurred in, carried.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
