SUMMARY: Pursuant to RCW 41.56, negotiations have concluded between representatives of the
City and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local #437 resulting in the attached
Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). These negotiations have been discussed with Council in
Executive Session. This CBA replaces the current one that expired on December 31, 2005. The new
CBA is for a three (3) year term, beginning January 1,2006 through December 31, 2008. It was
ratified by the IAFF membership on April 4, 2006. Council approval is required to implement this
agreement.
ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and IAFF.
FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Fiscal impact of implementing this contact is
estimated as follows: 2006: $398,711; 2007: $427,689; 2008: $619,623. A budget amendment in the
amount of $111,775 will be required in addition to the set aside in non-departmental, to fund the
contract for 2006.
