of the property owners within a radius of 200 feet tO consent to rezonlng this
property for a service station.
Mr. Wheaton stated that he felt there would be no objection in getting a
building permit if the petition was in order when presented and if an agree-
ment could be reached so there would be no confllction with the proposed War-
ren Avenue Bridge approaches. ~
Mr. Wheaton suggested the petition be presented as soon as possible so
the matter could be discussed w~th the Planning Commission again and possibly
by next meeting the matter could be settled.

The City Clerk brought up for discussion the advisability of continuing
the insurance policy covering the Insley K-l~ Shovel and the Case Trac-Trench-
er as the rates were high and he wished to recommend that the insurance policy
be dropped as he felt the policy instated against loss or damage directly caused
by fire, lightning, windstorm, cyclone, etc., were unlikely.
After discussing the matter, Mr. Wheaton felt that as the equipment is old
and the risk involved justifies the coverage the insurance should b e renewed
for this year.
The City Clerk read a letter from the Bremerton Housing Authority in
which they enclosed a check in the amount of $?,~81.50 which represents vol-
untary payment in lieu of taxes for Westpark for the £isc~l year ended Sept-
ember ~0, 1~8~.
The letter will be filed in the Clerk's Office.
The City Clerk reported that Fire Chief Tillett and Lt. Darrell Floyd
had contacted him regarding surplus hose which resulted from closing the fire
stations at Westpark and Sheridan Park~ They have been made a proposition
whereby they could trade the 1000 feet of 2~" hose for 100 feet of Dacron
hose and some couplings which they need. In thais year's budget this purchase
of hose was not anticipated and therefore is not a budget item. The question
is whether the Council felt the matter should be a trade for merchandise of
equal value or whether it would be necessary to make an emergency appropria-
tion to buy the hose.
The City Clerk further explained to the Council that if the Fire Depart-
ment traded the B~" hose for the 100 feet of Dacron hose the ~fference would
be around $210.00 and the cost of the two couplings would cost $78.00 leaving
a cash balance of $1~4.00 and this way no tap on the budget.

and had received an answer relative to t he speeding up of Mr. Nutter,s case
and that they informed him the question of compromise was between the State
Auditor,s Office and the Attorney General. Mr. Arthur, Attorney for Nutter,
will be out of town until the 19th of April.
The City Attorney still felt the officials of Bremerton, the represent-
atives of the bonding company and representatives of the State Auditor's Of-
lice should get together to say how much money to ask for a compromise.
The City Attorney reported there was still trouble over securing an ease-
ment for a water line to the Navy Printing Plant. The City Attorney stated
that the people who acquired this property by conveyance didn't convey out this
particular tract in question.
