The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton, Washing-
ton was held in the ~ayor's Office, City Hall at 10:00 o,clock A.M., Wednesday,
January 6, 1954. Mayor Yowell presiding with Commissioner Cullin, Commissioner
Wlleaton, City Clerk McGowan and City Attorney Wallace being present.
Motion by Mr. Wheaton and Miss Cullin the minutes of the regular meeting
of December 50 and the recessed meeting of December 51st, 1955 be approved as
written, carried.
The City Clerk read notice of employment for Harold Glen Widener, Park and
Recreation at $1.50 per hour.
Motion by Mr. Yowell and Mr. Wheaton the notice of employment be approved,
carried.
The City Clerk read the payroll voucher in the amount of $42,776.69 cover-
ing the payroll period ended December 51, 1955.
Motion by Miss Cullin~and Mr. Yowell the pa2noll voucher be approved, car-
ried.
The City Clerk read Resolution No. 855, setting the date of hearing for
January 27th, 1954 on L.I.D. No. 258, Part I and II for the improvement of the
alley in Block 8 of William Bremer,s First Addition between Gregory Way and
Burwell Street from High Avenue to Hewitt Avenue and llth Street between Rainier
Avenue and Montgomery Avenue.
Motion by Mr. ~heaton and Miss Cullin the passage of Resolution No. $55,
carried.
Discussion was held on the subject of proposed street lighting.
Mr. Wheaton stated that he would be able rob ring before the Council in the
near future some figures on the new lighting which have been compiled by the
Oity Engineer,s office.
Motion by Mr. Yowell and Miss Cullin the bills be paid if approved by a maj-
ority of the Commissioners, carried.
