A special meeting of the City council was held in the Mayor's ~ffice,
City Hall, on Monday, April 25, 1955 at 10:45 A.M. with Mayor Yowell p~esid-
lng and Commissioners Wheaton and Cullin and City Clerk McGowan in att~n~Be®.
The press and radio were informed of the meeting but were not represented.
The Mayor stated that this meeting was called for the purpose of author-
izing the. sale of a tract of land comprising approzimately ten (10) acres near
Gorst which is owned by the Water Department.
Mr. Wheaton reported that he had received word from Mr. Bantz of the State
Highway Department to the effect that they had no objection to the sale and
would negotiate with any futune owner for right of way for highway PurPoses.
It was then moved by Mayor Yowell and seconded by Mr. Wheaton that the City
Treasurer be instructed to offer at public sale at a price not less than the
appraised value of $13,500.00 the following described property: NEb SW~ SW~,
and that portion of the SE~ NE~ SW~ lying South of State Highway #14, all in
Section 32, Township 24 N Range i E.W.M. Kitsap County, Washlngton~ carried
unanimously.
There being no further business, it was moved by Mayor Yowell and seconded
by Commissioner Cullin that the meeting oe adjourned, carried.
