HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/03/60 October 3, 1960 Statutory Budget meeting of the City of Bremerton, Washington was held October 3, 1960 in Commissioner'Olark~s Office at 10:00 o'clock A.M., Mayor Domstad presid- ing with the following in attendance: Commissione~Clark and Schoneman, Auditor Vaa and City Clerk McGowan. The press was represented by Err. Jensen. Motion by Mr. Clark and Mr. D0mstad that changes be made in the budget which would result in a net reduction of the deficit of $4,799.77, carried. Motion by Mayor Domstad and Commissioner Clark tha~ the Statutory Budget Meet- lng be recessed to the call of the Chair, carried. October 4, 1960 Pursuant to recess the Statutory Budget Meeting was called to order by Mayor Domstad in the office of Commissioner Clsrk at lO:O0 o'clock A.M.,. on October 4, 1960 with the following in attendance: Commissioner Clark and Commissioner Schon- eman, Auditor Vaa and City Clerk McGowan. Also present was reporter from radio station. Motion by Mr. Clark and Mr. Schoneman that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written, carried. Motion by Mr. Clark and Mr. Schoneman that adjustments be made to the budget which would result in a net reduction of $97,529.44, carried. Tony Balazlc and Ernest Hopper, representing the Fire Department, entered the meeting; Mr. Hopper was introduced as President of Flreftghters Local #4~7; Mr. Bal- azic stated that the firemen were interested in seeing the pay increases, which they had requested, granted if it was feasible to do so. Discussion ensued in which it was pointed out by the Council that ft~was the .~ hope:o$]~remerton and the Association of Washington Cities that the Legislature could be induced to see that Cities receive a larger share of state collected tax~s and that in the event some pa~ increase could be granted. Mr. Hopper stated that the State Firefighters Association had approved support of the Association o£ Washington Cities attempt to get help from the Legislature. Motion by Mr. Domstad and Mr. Clark to recess until after the regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, October 5, 1960, carried. APPROVED: Cfty Clerk October 5, 1960 A recessed Statutory Budget meeting was called to order in Commissioner Clark's Office at 11:25 A.M., October 5, 1960 by Mayor Domstad. Present were Commissioners Clark and Schoneman, Auditor Vaa and City Clerk McGowan. Motion by ~ir. Clark and Mr. Schoneman to make adjustments to the budget in the smount of $1189.56, carried. Motion by Mr. Domstad and Mr. Clark to recess the meeting to Thursday, October 6, 1960 at lO:CO o,clock A.M., carried. APPROVED: City ~lerk -F - Mayo r October 6, 1960 A recessed Statutory Budget meeting of the City Council was called to order on Thursday, October 6, 1960 at 10:O0 A.M. by Mayor Domstad with Co~mnissloners Clark and Schoneman and Auditor Vaa being present. Mr. Clark reported the budget imbalance was $39,550.97. Ootober 6, 1960 (Con't) Motion by Mr. Clark and Mr. Domstad to make adjustments to the budget amounting to ~23,280.94, carried. Mr. Clark reported the budget imbalance to this point was $16,270.03. Meeting recessed by Mayor Domstad to 10:O0 A.M., October 7, 1960. A~PROVED: ~ ·City ~le~k October ?, 1960 A recessed Statutory Budget meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Domstad with Cormnissioners Clark and Schoneman, City Clerk McGowan and Fire- men Balazic and Hopper in attendance at lO:OO A.M., October ?, 1960. Motion by Mr. Clark and Mr. Domstadto make adjustments to the budget amounting ~20,931.00 resulting in net surplus of $4,660.9V, carried. Motion by Mr. Domstad and Mr. Clark to recess to call of Chair, c~rried. APPROVED: Cl~y Clerk Mayor October ?, 1960 A recessed Statutory Budget ]~ieeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Domstad with Commissioners Clark and $choneman ~ing present at the hour of 4:~0 P.M., October ?, 1960. Also present was City Auditor Vaa and Erv. Jensen, re- porter. Mr. Vaa reported the total ~dget was $4,1~4.492.47. Motion by Mr. Clark and ~r. Schoneman to adopt the ~dget in this figure and as revised, carried. Mayor L~omstad commended the oth~,r commissioners and ~r. Vaa for the fine job they ~ave done on ~he ~dget. Motion by ~r. Domstad and Mr. Clark to recess until 8:~0 A.M., Monday, October 10, 1960, carried. APPROVED: ~-~ · Mayor October 10, 1960 A recessed Statutory Budget m~eting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor ~omstad, with Commissioners Clark and Schoneman~ City Clerk McGowan and City Auditor Vaa being present at 8:~0 A.M., Monday, October 10, 1960. Clerk read Ordinance No. 2409, "An Ordinance of the City of Bremerton approving and adopting the Financial Budget for the several departments of the~ city govern- ment of the City of Bremerton for the fiscal year 1961, and appropriating the amounts set forth in said Budget to each of said departments." Motion by Mr. Domstad and ~r. Clark to pass Ordinance No. 2409 carried as fol- lows: Mr. Domstad, Yes; Mr. Clark, Yes; Mr. Schoneman, Yes. Clerk read Ordinance No. 2410, "An Ordinance of the City of Bremerton, levying municipal taxes against all of the taxable property within the City Limits of Brem- erton for the year 1960, and approving the assessment roll made by the Assessor of Kibsap County therefor, to be collected in the year 1961." Motion by ~r. Clark and Mr. Schoneman to pass Ordinance No. 2410, carried as follows: Mr. Domstad, yes; Mr. Clark, yes; Mr. Schoneman, yes. Meeting adjourned.
