Considerable discussion followed regarding the possibility of vacating only
10' instead of the full 20~ in order to allow access for one property owner to his
garage and for the City to maintain an easement for utilities and services.
The City Engineer stated that the biggest problem now is the fact that the
East lO~ for access to a garage to be used by one property owner may not be use-
able. The area is being surveyed to discover whether the 10' would be useable.
After more discussion, it was decided that the decision on the matter be
made at the next Council meeting in order to allow the Commissioners to view
the site.
The subject of the Bayview (or Ninth St.) vacation was introduced.
Mrs. Waaga expressed the desire to know the results of the survey made on
the proposed vacation so that she will know the exact portion being vacated.
Mr. Schoneman stated that the survey has been completed in the area and that
the Commissioners will be viewing the site soon.
Mr. Kridler approached the Council concerned with the question of access to
the property below the proposed vacation. In reply, Mr. Schoneman stated that the
Matter before the Council is only the vacation of the street, and the access to
the property would be a concern of the property owners themselves.
