SUMMARY: The Parks Department staff has determined that the property located at 1109 Warren
Avenue, known as the Warren Tennis Courts and Community Center or the Girl Scout/Camp Fire
property, is underutilized due to its location at a very busy intersection and its lack of parking
facilities. Public Works and Utilities has determined that right-of-way improvements at the
intersection of Warren Avenue and 11 th Street may necessitate removal of the Community Center.
The Parks & Recreation Commission has submitted its advisory report and public hearings were held
on April 5, 2006 and April 19, 2006. An additional public hearing is scheduled for June 7, 2006. The
proposed resolution surpluses the park property, excluding the Community Center, pursuant to
Chapter 13.12 BMC.
ATTACHMENTS: (1) Report from the Parks and Recreation Board; (2) Proposed Resolution
FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The proceeds from any sale will be used for parks
and recreation facilities.
