Hayer Jarstad:- Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new parking facility will be held Wednesday, January 13, at 11:00 A.M., to which the general public will be invited. Re ~ames of chance to stimulate business: Mayor Jarstad comnented that the City of Bremorton has taken a firm stand over the past one-and-a-half years, in accordance with a rul- ing of the Attorney General, while adjoining co~nunities--although prepared to follow Bremor- ton's example--did not do so because of inaction of the County Co~issioners. This has made it very hard for businesses in Bremerton to compete with others on the City's borders which have these games. Now the County has gone completely the other way--due partly to a ruling by the Federal government--going beyond what the City of Bremerton did and what the other cormmmities in the County had decided on. Policy will be re-evaluated and a statement on po]icy will be issued as soon as Council, Chief of Police and City Attorney can get together and agree on course of action. Chief Plouf has been on vacation, and Co~missioner Clark is at home. ill. It is very disturbing to those in the Police field, who have taken a fin~ policy stand over one-and-a-half years, to have people call and raise the question as to whether the County is going to have to come in and take care of any business that is conduc- ted in--and ~s the responsibility of--the City of Bremerton. }.leetin~ adjourned at 10:10 G.C. n, Sr., City Clerk Glenn K. ,ldrstad~ayo}'
