SUBJECT: Service agreement with Qwest
to provide DS 1 service to listed city
facilities.
SUMMARY: Staff recommends renewal of the existing service agreement with Qwest for DSl
service for 3 circuits located at 100 Oyster Bay Ave North (PW&U), 1600 Oyster Bay West
(WWTP), and 680 Lebo Ave (Parks). Staff is also recommending extension of the existing agreement
with Qwest to incorporate current contract pricing for the existing Qwest line located at 3027
Olympus (PW &U) and a new line to the Gold Mt. Golf Club (GMGC). Contract pricing for the
Olympus Facility will save approx. $500 in 2006 ($63/mo. For 8 months). The new line to the
GMGC, based on current contract prices, will save that facility approx. $700/mo. ($8,400/yr)
compared to their existing month-to-month leased lines. The Qwest non-recurring charge to install the
new line to GMGC is $680. This conversion also requires installation of new phones at GMGC at a
one-time cost of approximately $6,000.
ATTACHMENTS.: Service Agreement
FISCAL IMP ACTS Each user department budgets for their own phone service requirements. There
will be no change in cost for the three lines currently under contract. The two lines being converted
from month-to-month service to contract pricing will save money as noted in the summary.
