SUMMARY: This is a proposed contract amendment with Waste Management Inc. (WMI) for
transport ofbiosolids from the Westside WWTP to the application sites, utilizing their equipment, for
a total cost of $50,000/year. This contract amendment includes the container rental and hauling fees.
The savings realized by the City, include the elimination of $1 ,000,000 of planned capital
expenditures, and the elimination of training for and maintenance of new equipment.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the Contract Modification between the City of
Bremerton and Waste Management of Washington, Inc. to add the hauling of biosolids as a
reimbursable service to the City for an annual payment not to exceed $55,000.00 and authorize the
Mayor to finalize and execute the necessary contract documents for the agreement without further
City Council approval.
