SUMMARY: Pursuant to RCW 41.56, negotiations have concluded between representatives of the
City and IAFF Local #437 resulting in the attached Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). These
negotiations have been discussed with Council in Executive Session. This CBA replaces the current
one that expired on December 31, 2004. The new CBA is for a one (1) year term, beginning January
1, 2005 through December 31, 2005. It was ratified by the IAFF membership on April 4, 2006.
Council approval is required to implement this agreement.

FISCAL IMP ACTS: There are sufficient funds set aside in the 2006 budget to cover the cost of the
proposed contract. A budget adjustment to reallocate the labor costs from the General Fund
Miscellaneous Non-departmental budget (set aside for Labor) to the Fire Department is required.

between the City and IAFF Local #437, January 1,2005 through December 31,2005 and make the
necessary amendments to the budget.
