SUMMARY: Staff is recommending the approval of the purchase and sal greement for the
purchase from Puget Sound Energy, of the 17,550 sq. ft. of property at t south west corner of 10th
and Park for the construction of a new Court facility. Purchase price 0 $249,000.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The origi scope of the court facility relocation
project envisioned remodeling of an existing City facility. e purchase of this land reflects the
current direction of acquiring property and building a new; acility thereon. With this change in the
scope of the project - additional funding of $500,000 w: I be needed for the Public Safety Bond Fund
to provide for the land purchase and additional costs rated to new construction. A transfer of
$500,000 from the General Fund and additional bu et expenditure approval is required 0 proceed
with the land acquisition and construction ofthe w Municipal Court facility. The rem a ing funding
requirements are provided for by Public Safety ond proceeds.

RECOMMENDED M ION: Move to approve the Puget Sound Energy/City of Bremerton Real
Estate Purchase and Sa Agreement and authorize the Mayor to execute these documents in
substantially the sam form as presented and to approve a 2006 budget amendment and transfer of
$500,000 from the eneral Fund to the Public Safety Bond Fund to cover the purchase of this land
and other addition costs.
