SUMMARY: The action before the Council is to conduct a public hearing and adopt an ordinance
for the update of the City's critical areas regulations.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The Growth Management Act (GMA) requires
that critical areas regulations be updated to include "Best A vailable Science." Failure to maintain
GMA compliance may jeopardize the City's eligibility for State grants and loans, pat1icularly Public
Works Trust Fund loans.
