generator bid list (Contract # 06605) for the City's purchase. City will develop generator
installation requirements for bid document. The existing dry-well ventilation will be
upgrad~d to increase the air flow to the space, and the dry-well space will be upgraded to
a wet location level of design where practical, thus minimizing the electrical and control
equipment in the dry well.
General Project Assumptions
1. The City of Bremerton will be designing the mechanical pumping system
upgrades for the station upgrade.' Brown and Caldwell has limited interface with
this work with the exception of providing a technical review of the City's
pumping system design and incorporating system power and control requirements
into electrical and I&C designs and generator sizing.
2. Brown and Caldwell will provide dry well ventilation mechanical, electrical, and
instrumentation and control drawings and specifications to the City of Bremerton
for its use ir1 packaging a set of construction documents.
3. Existing controls demolition will be shown on electrical plans. A P&ID diagram
will be created for pumping system only. Control diagram type will match
existing forniat, which does not include loop diagrams.
4. The construction of the improvements included in this scope of work is based on
the existing pump station being taken completely out of service. It is anticipated
that the contractors performing the work specified in Division 16 and 17 will have
access to the site during the pump replacements.
5. No staging of improvements will be incorporated into the design of the
improvements in this scope.
6. Non pumping systems demolition drawings will be developed by Brown and
Caldwell.
7. The contract specifications include the document Standard General ,Conditions of
the Construction Contract as prepared by the Engineers Joint Contract Documents
Committee (EJCDC). This document is located in Section 00700 of the contract
specifications.
8. The City will prepare specifications for Divisions 0 through 10 and the pumping
system upgrade specifications included in Divisions 11 and 15. Brownand
Caldwell will prepare only those sections of Division 11 and 15 that apply to its
work and the applicable sections from Division 16 and 17. Brown and Caldwell
will not prepare specifications in Divisions 12 or 14.
9. There will be only one submittal meeting held during the project. This meeting
will be at the 95 percent submittal stage at the City offices.

preparing the drawings required in this scope of work. City-provided drawings
will include plan views and section views, to which Brown and Caldwell will
apply the design information it is required by this scope to develop.
11. Design review submittals (70 and 95 percent) will be submitted electronically.
The drawings will be submitted in a PDF format. Specifications will be submitted
in Microsoft Word format.
