Tap, Port Orchard Mr. Godfrey stated they have had to turn away people who wanted to live at the YMCA and was requesting funds, approximately $10,000, to renovate the second floor thus providing additional quarters. Concern was expressed by Commissioner Stewart that the State would be tearing down the YMCA due to ferry terminal building expansion. Mr. Rose expressed concern about the type of businesses that have been coming into this area. He also wanted the City to consider installing a fire lane and 100 ft. of parking in this area. Commissioner Stewart informed Mr. Rose that the City has passed an Ordinance preventing a business from impacting the surrounding community. Commissioner Swanson was concerned about the effect of blocking off Callow and where people would park. o SMITH NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION Michael Hose, 1544 Elizabeth, Bremerton Ms. Hose stated that the Smith Neighborhood Association's first priority was to continue housing rehabilitation program for low-and moderate-income residents in Smith Neighborhood, and also the need to find a temporary shelter to provide emergency housing for families and individuals in ~CT ~ 1 1980 Bremerton. VINCENT DE PAUL Max Hale, 601 8th St., Bremerton Mr. Hale spoke in support of the KCAP request to maintain an emergency house. Mr. Hale stated that years ago they could send people to the Commodore Hotel for emergency housing, but it has been torn down. They cannot affort to put them in motels.
