Dear Mr. Hamman: Thank you for your interest in locating a new business within the City of Bremerton. The parcel located at the S.W. corner of Burwell and Montgomery Ave. is zoned B-3. The B-3 zone does not specif ically provide for recycling transfer stations. In order to locate this type of use in a B-3 zone, a Special Use Permit would have to be granted by the Planning Commission. The deadline for a Planning Commission Hearing is the 1st working day of each month and hearings are held on the 3rd Tuesday. Enclosed is a Special Use Permit application, a list of permitted uses in the B-3' zone, and the amended zoning map (94) with its accompanying Ordinance (2580). After reviewing this information, please contact David Hanna, Senior Planner, of our Department (478-5275). He is experienced at the Special Use Permit process and will be able to inform you more thoroughly on the requirements for granting a Special Use Permit. A fence of any height, made out of any non-electric material, may be constructed in all areas zoned for business in the City of Bremerton. However, new fence construction must be reviewed by the Building, Engineering and Fire Departments for compliance with state and local codes and regulations.
