CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, January 11, 2006
The weekly meeting. of .the City Council. of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City
Council Chambers, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6th Street, Bremerton,
Washington, Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at 5:30 PM, 'with Council President McConnell
presiding. Council members present were Nick Wofford, Will :Maupin, . Carol Arends, Dianne
Robinson, Mike Shepherd, Adam 'Brockus, and Brad Gehring. Council Member Wendy Pri~st
was absent. Also present were Cify Attorney Roger Lubovich, City Clerk Paula Johnston, and
Council Assistant Christine Grenier.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Brad Gehrina. followed by the
invocation provided by Deacon John Farrior of.Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church.

President McConnell announced that a Pre-Council session was held in Council Conference
Room 603 from 5:00 to 5:30 PM; and let citizens know that if they would like to receive
information on upcoming Council meetings, they may go to the City's website at
htto:/Iwww.ci..bremerton.wa.us, or call the Council Office' at (360) 473-5280.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
President McConnell proclaimed MONDA ~ JANUARY 16, 2006 as "MARTIN LUTHER
KING, JR. DAY" and the proClamation was. accepted by Deacon. John Farrior who then. invited
the Co~ncil.to'attend the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration to be held on .
MondaY, January 16th beginning at 10:00 AM at the Kitsap Pavilion President's Hall.
President McConnell invited citizens to apply for positions available on the P~rks and
Recreation Board, Planning Commission, Civil Service Commission, and the Citizens'
Commission on Council Salaries. People may contact the Mayor's Office at (360) 473-5266 to
obtain an application or may go to the City's website at htto:/Iwww.cLbremerton.wa.us.
Shea Schrodt announced that the WestSound Entertainment Association will be presenting a
performance by."The Coats" on February 14th beginning at 7:30 PM at the Bremerton
Performing Arts Center. People may contact Barbara Metzger at '(360) 692-9463 or Claire
Schrodt at (360) 616-8892 for'information and tickets.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check Numbers 305031 through 305297; and EFT-8769 through EFT-8782 in the amount
of $1 ,431,961.27; and Regular Payroll in the amount 'of $623,738.88 for the period ending
December 31, 2005 (#AB06-009)
There were no comments from the public.
5:38:50 M1S/C/U (Arends/Robinson) Move to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.
With no further business, the meeting of the. City Council was adjourned at 5:39 PM. Council
then reconvened in the Council Conference Room 603 for a STUDY SESSION to hear
presentations on upcoming agenda items.
