and the City of Bremerton to Perform Department: Public Works & Utilities

SUMMARY: The Federal Highway Administration (FHW A) requires the City to perform biennial
bridge inspections of the 11 th Street Bridge to comply with the National Bridge Inspection Standards
(NBIS). The City does not have the expertise to perform the necessary bridge inspections and has
negotiated an Interlocal Agreement with Kitsap County to do so.

FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The inspections are budgeted in the Arterial Street
fund; $3,500.00 will cover inspections in 2006 and 2008.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Interlocal Agreement for Professional Services between Kitsap County and the City of
Bremerton to Perform Biennial 11 th Street Bridge Inspections and authorize the Mayor to finalize and
execute the necessary contract cuments for the agreement.
