SUMMARY: Staff recommends a budget adjustment for Fund 102 in the amount of $24,664 for the
purpose of purchasing a Telephone System up-grade for the PBX and Meridian Voice Mail systems.
ATTACHMENTS: Council Summary, Quote, Interlocal Agreement with City of Seattle
FISCAL IMP ACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This upgrade was not budgeted for in 2005 and
was not included in the proposed 2006 budget as the original expectation was to wait until 2007 for
these upgrades. The original delay had some risk associated with it but the decision to postpone was
made due to limited financial resources in 2005 and 2006. However, it is now apparent that the cost
to the City will be significantly greater if the original plan and time table is adhered to (see attached
council summary). A budget adjustment is therefore needed and requested for Fund 102 to
accommodate this purchase prior to the expiration of the current price discount available to the City.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a (m get adjustment to Fund 102 in the amount of
$24,664, and approve the purchase of a PBX and Meridian Voice Mail phone upgrade utilizing an
Interlocal Agreement with the City of Seattle and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute all
necessary documents.
