Glenn Jarstad, 2823 Hefner, expressed concern over a building in the Sheridan neighborhood which is out-of-character for the surrounding neighborhood. Many residents in this area purchased their property, as veterans, over 40 years ago. Mr. Jarstad read into the record a portion of the protective covenants stipulated by the Federal Government at the time the property was released for purchase by veterans. In the covenants it states that no lot shall be further subdivided except Lot 95. Also, the covenants would be extended automatically in ten year segments if the majority of property owners did not request a change. He explained that a City official recently brought the covenants to his attention - that at the time the lot in question was approved for rezone, the Engineers and Planning staff said everything being done was legal. At this time, Mr. Jarstad requested the City Council to direct the City Attorney to give what guidance he can to the citizens because the City did subdivide the lot and did then make it available for the building currently on it. President Waibel requested City Attorney to look into this matter. With no further business meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m. KATHLEEN L. MCCLUSKEY, CITY CLERK TAPE #593 City Council Reg. Mtg.
