Mr. Overson noted this project was included in the 1988 budget and questioned why it was coming tq Council so close to the end of the year? Arvilla Ohlde, Parks DWrec~or, explained that IAC funds remained from the 1980 Lions Field development and over the past years the City has requested extensions which they granted. Mid-year 1987 a request for an extension was submitted, which they granted, securing the funds for future use. IAC had taken quite a while to respond that the funds would be released (August 17, 1988) and the City responded on September 16, with a deadline for project completion by December 31, 1988.
