If the number of hours increase, a correction will be made to the contract; however, the contractor's intent is to complete the project as projected. Public comment - none. Mr. Overson stated some citizens have expressed concern about the impact on the Police Officers for additional overtime duty since the City is already utilizing Police Officers for overtime duty at Westpark. Chief Du Fresno explained the Westpark contract provides for some hours of additional patrol on weekends, which the City has provided on an overtime basis. He also pointed out the City has 63 commissioned officers, who would be eligible to take advantage of this opportunity. And, he assured Council that he would closely monitor how the assignments were made to make sure no one officer was getting overworked. He also noted there is an understanding with the Union that the work will be shared equally through the group so that everyone would have an opportunity to participate.
