CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Slip 1,5 2004
Wednesday, September 8, 2004
The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City Council
Chambers, 239 4th Street, Bremerton, Washington, Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at 5:30 P.M., with
Council President Daren Nygren presiding. Council members present were Mike Short, Will Maupin,
Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Mike Shepherd, Wendy Priest, Cecil McConnell, and Brad Gehring.
Aisc present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Paula Johnston; and Council Assistant
Christine Grenier Ellingson.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Council Member Cecil McConnel!, followed
by the invocation provided by Deacon Jim Bemis of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
President Ny,qren made the following announcements:
1. A Pre-Council session was held in the Council Conference Room from 5:00 to 5:30 PM;
2. Council will meet for a LEGISLATIVE REVIEW SESSION in the Council Conference Room immediately
following the Council Meeting, and reminded citizens that the meeting is open to the public; and
3. The first reading of the Utility Rate ordinance would be heard at the next Counc Meet ng on
September 15th, and citizens were encouraged to call the Council Office at (360) 473-5280 for more
information or view the posted information on the City's website at www.ci.bremerton.wa.us.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check numbers 293564 through 293596, EFT- 6413 and EFT-6415 in the amount of
$319,987.46; and Regular Payroll in the amount of $674,754.57 for the pay period ending August
31, 2004 (#AB04-182)
#0030 M/S/C/U (PriesFMcConnell) Move to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.
4A- ORDINANCE NO. 4908 [SECOND READING] AMENDING CHAPTER 3,01, "RATE TABLE C"
OF THE BREMERTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FEES
(#AB04-180): The first reading of the ordinance was heard on September 1, 2004.
There were no comments from the public.
#0055 M/S/C/U (McConnell/Arends) Move to pass Ordinance No. 4908 on second reading repealing and
replacing Bremerton Municipal Code 3.01 Rate Table C.
With no further business, the meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 5:42 P.M. The Council
reconvened in the Council Conference Room for a LEGISLATIVE REVIEW SESSION to hear presentations
on upcoming agenda items.
