CiTY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, July 14, 2004
The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order n the Cty
Council Chambers, 239 4th Street, Bremerton, Washington, Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 5:35 P.M.,
with Council President Daren Nygren presiding. Council members present were Mike Short, Will
Maupin, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Wendy Priest, Cecil McConnell, and Brad Gehring. Council
Member Mike Shepherd was absent. Aisc present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk
Paula Johnston; and Council Assistant Christine Grenier Ellingson.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Council Member Cecil McConnell, followed
by the invocation provided by Reverend Paul Meeker of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
President Nyqren made the following announcements:
1. A Pre-Council session was held in the Council Conference Room from 5:00 to 5:30 PM;
2. The Council will meet for a LEGISLATIVE REVIEW COMMI]-I-EE to hear presentations on upcoming
agenda items and a presentation on the DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; and
3. Citizens may view information on upcoming agenda items on the City's website
http://www.ci.bremerton.wa.us or call (360) 473-5280 for more information.
CONSENT AGENDA
A. Check numbers 291891 through 292139, EFT-6302 through EFT-6306; P-6304, in the
amount of $1,104,613.96; Regular Payroll in the amount of $1,204,603.83 for the pay period
ending June 30, 2004; and Retiree Payroll in the amount of $142,918.31 for the period ending
June 30, 2004 (#AB04-135)
B. Minutes of Meeting - June 30, 2004 (#AB04-136)
C. Professional Services Agreement with MILES YANICK & COMPANY for Architectural Services for
the Downtown Bremerton "MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. LIBRARY" (#AB04-128)
#0040 M/S/C/U (Priest/McConnell) Move to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.
With no further business, the meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 5:39 P.M. The Council
reconvened in the Council Conference Room for a LEGISLATIVE REVIEW COMMITTEE SESSION to hear
presentations on upcoming agenda items, and to hear a presentation regarding the DRAFT
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
