8A - BUDGET ADJUSTMENT NO. 2002-06 TO RENEW CITY'S ABATEMENT LINE OF CREDIT
(#AB02-087): City Treasurer Rich Hanna, announced that this budget adjustment provides expenditure
authority for the renewal of the City's abatement line of credit (LOC) and for the current abatement
actions at Arsenal Way and at Pennsylvania Avenue. At the conclusion of these abatement actions,
liens will be filed on the abatement properties. Monies obtained from enforcement of those liens will
repay the funds drawn on the LOC.
Mr. McConnell questioned if abatement actions were always funded from a line-of-credit. Rich Hanna
explained that there is a City policy, which determines abatement actions that are eligible for line-of-
credit financing, but noted that there must be a "reasonable expectation that enforcement of the lien
fo#owing the abatement would be adequate to repay any funds borrowec~'.
#0825 M/S/C/U (McConnell/Rollman) Move to approve Budget Adjustment Request 2002-06.
