offering a program to assist senior citizens in bolting and bracing items in their homes.

benefit restoration efforts within the county including those Water Utility is currently involved with at
Gorst Creek. The Water Utility has an open area available adjacent to the existing greenhouse at the
Forestry Office compound. In lieu of monetary compensation, KCD agrees to contribute plant
material and expertise to the Water Utility for its stream restoration projects.

9C - CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER FOR SR304 TIP, GATEWAY PHASE (#AB01-052); City
Engineer Jennifer Strehler summarized that in January of 2001, the City identified two defects in the
sanitary sewer system in the vicinity of the intersection of Cambrian Avenue and Farragut Street that
require immediate repair. The cost to make the repairs is estimated to be $150,000. Constraints due
to schedule, cost, and access require that the work would be performed by the SR304 Contractor
concurrent with his completion of the Gateway Phase of the SR304 Project. Approval of this increase
to the Change Order Authorization allows the repairs to be made to the sanitary sewer system
without impacting the remaining construction of the Gateway Phase of the SR304 Project. The
requested action before the City Council is approval of an increase in the Change Order Authority of
the Gateway Phase of the SR304 Transportation Improvement Project from $250,000 to $400,000.
There were no comments from the public.
#1285 M/S/C/U (Arends/Reed) Move that Council authorize the Mayor to execute change orders on

The Callow Basin Priority 5 storm separation project includes extensions of new storm sewer piping
to intercept storm water that currently drains into the combined or sanitary sewer system and
contributes to combined sewer overflows. The Trenton/Cherry work includes environmental
permitting assistance and engineering design services for specific conveyance improvements in the
Cherry Avenue and Trenton Avenue Basins as identified in the CSO Reduction Facility Plan. The no-
to-exceed amount of the agreement if $612,300.00. The request before the City Council is to
approve an agreement for professional services with HDR Engineering.
There were no comments from the public.
Mr. Farr raised questions about the bid process used to select HDR Engineering as the contractor for
