Regular meeting of the City Oo~uacil called to order by Mayor A. F. Reeves at 8.00 p.m.

Minutes of previous session read and approved ~s re&d.
Letter read from Secret~ry of Btate~iving notice that list of Registered voters must
be sent to his officenmt later than August ?th l~lO. Letter ordered filed.
Letter read from ~.. W. Moore asking for franchise to run a ferry from the foot of
Park Avenue, and on motion of McGillivray and Ferguson the request was referred to the
Franchise and Ordinance committee.
Letter read from the Mayor of Tacoma giving notice of sale of Fire Department equip-
ment, referred to the Fire,Light and ~ater committee.
Oity Engineer submitted completed plans showing in detail how the piling would be
placed at the foot of Front street in connection with District $??.
Motion by Harrison and McGillivray to approve the plans subject to any alteration
which street and alley committee may ~ake in subway, carried.
Clerk read report of Police Judge Cart showing net receipts from his office for the
month of June amounting to 9402.08. referred to the Finance committee.
Clerk read an ordinance proposing to give to Prank McOandless and associates, a gas
franchise for the term of ~B years, referred to the ordin--mce committee.
The street and alley committee reported on several minor improvements to the streets.
}~otion by McGlothlen and Harrison' to allow all bills which had been approved by the
