Bremerton, Washington, October 1st 1917,
~ Regular meeting meeting of the City council for the consideration of the
budget of estlmabed~exPenses ~ ~eb~e~lgl8 was called to order by Mayor
Giles at 8.30 o'clock p.m. all members of the Cpuncil being present.
The Mayor announced the purpose of the meeting and Clerk read the pro-
posed es~imates as published, ,~d reported that no protests had been filed
Clerk then read the ordinance levying .special and general municipal taxes
on all the taxmhle property of the City of Bremerton for the year 1918 and
approving the assessment ro~l as ~de by tho County assessor oF Kitsap
County; Diff~rent~ items of the budget was discussed by the Council, Mr
'Bowdoia of. the Street and alley committee urged the Council to maka as large
an appropriation as possible .for street work; it was shown that~the appropria-
tion for the stre~%'department was the largest that had been made'by any
previous council for this purpose; no change was made in the estimates as
published.
Motion Ferguso~'a~d ~eeves to pass ordinance as read carried.
Motion by Me~guson and Pittack to adjourn, carried.
