SUMMARY: In the 2003 legislative session, the Washington State Legislature increased the
gasoline tax by five cents per gallon to be used on highway improvements throughout the state. As
indicated in Agreement GCA~3901, $11,000,000 of these funds are designated to complete the SR304
improvements.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Obtaining $11,000,000 from the increased
gasoline tax to complete SR304. City match fun~are not necessary.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve Agreement GCA-3901 with the Washington State Department of Transportation to
receive funds for construction of SR304 from Charleston Beach Road to the SR304/SR3 interchange
and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the necessary contract documents for the agreement.
