SUMMARY: Since the $100,000 Gates Foundation grant has been canceled due to continued delays
with the Martin Luther King Jr. tSht~, project, it our recommendation that the City reapply for the
Gates grant upon securing commitments from both the City of Bremerton and Kitsap County to each
contribute $100,000 to fund the balance of the project costs. The City's $100,000 contribution toward
the library project would come from the fimd balance of the General Government Capital Improve-
ment Fund (Fund 308) through a Council-approved budget adjustment to this fund.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): There would be a $100,000 decrease in the fund
balance of the General Govemmem Capital Improvement Fund.
