SUMMARY: In 2002, the city of Bremerton sold. 18 acres of park land to Bremerton Chrysler for
$51,000. This sale settled an encroachment issue with this business. Because the property was given
to the City by the Federal Government in 1976 for park purposes, it was required that the City replace
it with more park land. Two pieces of property south of Kitsap Lake Park; a 10 acre parcel and a .87
acre parcel were purchased as replacement for. 18 acres lost by encroachment. The City is obligated
to include the National Park Service Convenant and Restriction to the new pieces of property.
