SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton Police Department has a contract with the Bremerton Housing
Authority to provide police service for the Westpark Housing development. There is a contract
addendum that extends the existing 2004 contract two months for October and November 2004. The
services are identified in the addendum and the extension will not exceed $23,040.00.
Secondly, the 2004 contract was rewritten and updated to meet BHA grant and community policing
requirements. The 2005 contract identifies staffing levels, financial terms and specific services. The
contract is for one year.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The Bremerton Police Department dedicates one
Patrol officer to support the contract for one year. The BHA funds the full-time officer and services
according to the contract.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approvett~e 2004 contract addendum with the Bremerton
Housing Authority to support community policing in Westpark Housing and authorize the Mayor to
finalize and execute the contract addendum with substantially the same terms and conditions as
contained in the proposed agreement.
Second motion: Move to approve the 2005 service contract with the Bremerton Housing Authority to
support community policing in Westpark Housing and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
contract addendum with substantially the same terms and conditions as contained in the proposed
