SUMMARY: Public art is recognized as a stimulus to the vitality, economy and culture of our
community, enhancing the quality of life for all citizens because of its public nature. The proposed
ordinance establishes a City of Bremerton Arts Commission and a One Percent (1%) for Arts Program
for the City. Further, the proposed ordinance establishes procedures for the acquisition and display of
art for the One Percent (1%) for Arts Program.
