4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REOUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION:
Attached is the contract proposal to purchase three (3) Fire Engines as outlined in the Bond issue. The City wishes to
purchase the Seagrave engines for the reasons listed in the attached Bremerton Fire Department Apparatus Specification
Committee minutes, in addition this purchase will continue our effort to standardize the fleet which results in increased
safety because the controls for each apparatus in our fleet will be the same. This will also create greater efficiency during
maintenance of the apparatus. The city has received an excellent price through an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with
the City of Radcliff, Kentucky.
5. RECOMMENDATION:
Move to find that the findings and recommendation of the Fire Department Apparatus Specification Committee
(Attached) are an appropriate basis for acquisition of fire apparatus through another governmental agency; that this
agreement to purchase through an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Radcliff, Kentucky complies with the
previsions of BMC 2.76 and is therefore exempt from our standard requirement to purchase by bid call; and further,
that the Mayor is authorized to finalize and execute necessary documents to purchase three Engines from the
Seagrave Corporation, of Clintonville, Wisconsin subject to the approval of the City Attorney.
