SUMMARY: This bid award is for the purchase of two new chopper pumps for Pump Station EB-3.
These pumps were required due to the changes that have occurred in the discharge head at the pump
station. These changes were due to the improvements to the Trenton/Cherry Basin CSO. The
Engineer's estimate was $38,000 to $39,000. PumpTech Inc.submitted the lowest bid, but it did not
meet the required specifications and was deemed non-responsive. Whitney Equipment Inc. submitted
the first responsive low bid price of $37,254.00 including tax and shipping, which is in line with the
Utilities preliminary estimates.
ATTACgIM~NTS: Bid Tabulation Sheet
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The pump upgrade for Pump Station EB-3 was
included in the Trenton/Chert3, Basin CSO budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: That the City Council approves the award of the bid to Whitney
Equipment Inc. for the purchase of two new chopper pumps for Pump Station EB-3, in the amount of
$37,254.00 including tax and shipping and authorize the Mayor to execute the same.
