RESOLUTION ON SURPLUS AND SALE COUNCIL MEETING Date: July 23, 2003

SUMMARY: The City has received an offer from the Kitsap Square Dance Association to purchase
certain public utility property. The property is not currently used for public utility service nor will it
be required for providing public utility service in the future. The offer to purchase the property is fair
market value and the City and greater community would be better served by the surplus and sale of
the property.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The public utility would receive the sum of
$107,000 from the sale of the property and the property would be returned to the tax rolls.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
I move to pass Resolution No. ~ ~ ~ 7 declaring the public utility property surplus, approving a
negotiated sale of the property pursuant to BMC 2.78.030(e) to the Kitsap Square Dance Association,
approving the purchase and sale agreement and authorizing the Mayor to execute any and all
documents necessary to close the transaction.
