SUMMARY: On December 30, 2002, the City Council adopted new Downtown development
regulations including a limitation on maximum building heights and number of stories in the DW
Downtown Waterfront Zone. On March 03, 2003, the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing
Authority applied for an amendment to the zoning code text to allow up to six stories rather than five
as specified in the new regulations. The proposed change does not alter the maximum allowed
building height or the amount of allowed building bulk. Following public hearing on March 18, 2003,
The City Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the change.
